Younger women now even more interested in cosmetic surgery.

The results of a recent survey about cosmetic surgery in Toronto has had an interesting conclusion. 10,000 women between the ages of 16 and 70 were surveyed across Canada and were asked if they were interested in cosmetic surgery and non-surgical treatments. The age group that stated that they would want plastic surgery was drastically highest between the ages of 16 and 35 with a gradual decline from 35+. Just a decade ago the average age for a woman wanting a facelift was around 55, but now it has dropped closer to 40.

Toronto cosmetic surgery has become very exposed over the last few decades thanks to the media and Hollywood. There is no doubt that these trends will continue and the ages will continue to decrease as the cosmetic surgery procedures become more sophisticated and the more women receive them. The survey also found that an increasing number of women would consider having a non-surgical cosmetic surgery procedure before they would undergo the knife. Three out of four of the women surveyed also said that they believe that their youthful-looking and even-toned skin was their biggest beauty attribute.

Cosmetic Surgery will use Stem Cells

Cosmetic Surgery in Toronto Will Use Stem Cells

It is believed that stem-cell generated natural tissues used rather than synthetics will help to alleviate the complications of many cosmetic surgeries, such as breast augmentation, breast implants and reconstructive cosmetic surgeries after cancers or other diseases and accidents. Saline breast implants and silicone breast implants have a chance of rupturing and may leak and interfere with breast cancer detection on mammograms. Stem-cell generated natural tissue implants should avoid these potential problems.

These natural implants often require a few different cosmetic surgery procedures, by finding a healthy location on the patients body to obtain tissue for constructing the implant. This approach is a much less invasive because the needle procedure doesn’t require very many cells, so it does not require extensive surgery. Reconstructive surgeries could definitely benefit from these stem-cell procedures because they do not shrink or lose their size over time. They were and will always be part of the natural body. Some studies have found that typical soft-tissue implants can lose more than half of their volume over time causing a noticeable chance of the skins surface where the implant was placed.

Some cosmetic surgeons believe that these new stem-cell cosmetic surgery techniques will help to eliminate the need for additional plastic surgeries in patients and may produce long-lasting and more natural implants. Stem-cell research has shown much improvement over the last few years and many recent studies have given researchers hope that this relatively new science will be helpful in the cosmetic surgery world used to help patients that honestly need it.

Less Frequent Doses Of Botox® Still Result In Reduced Wrinkles

Botox® has been used as a plastic surgery procedure to help relive the signs of wrinkles and aging for nearly a decade now and until recently it was thought that a patient receiving cosmetic surgery Botox® injections had to have the cosmetic procedure in Toronto once every three months or so, but a new study by Roger A. Dailey M.D., F.A.C.S., professor and Lester Jones Endowed Chair of oculofacial plastic surgery in the OHSU School of Medicine have determined that,

“After two years of treatment at recommended intervals, patients can potentially cut the frequency, and thus the cost of their Botox® treatments by half.” – Dailey

The research was sponsored by an unrestricted educational grant from Allergen, Inc., the makers of Botox® Cosmetic and it demonstrated that patients that received the cosmetic surgery injections from their early 30′s throughout their 50′s were able to prevent wrinkles from forming and even eliminate existing wrinkles.

The study was conducted on 50 women with ages ranging from 30 to 50, who had received Botox® injections for two years (at four month intervals). The clinical trials have shown that the plastic surgery injections can be given at a 6 month interval rather than a 3 or 4 month interval which will significantly reduce the cost of the cosmetic surgery treatments, while keeping the overall results basically the same.

Cosmetic Surgery Linked to Success

Women in the Workforce Link Cosmetic Surgery in Toronto to Success

Do you want to hear something shocking? In a recent phone survey to almost 900 Canadian women between the ages of 18-60, the survey asked a few simple questions, like… “With the strain on the economy, the increased number of lay-offs and firings and the belief that hiring is based on looks would you consider looking into cosmetic surgery to gain an edge in the workplace?” The answer was a resounding 80% said, “yes.”

A leading plastic surgeon in Toronto was asked about his thoughts on this subject and his response was, that women in the workplace not only believe that youthful looks matter, but they are acting on that belief by having plastic surgeries and cosmetic procedures all over Canada.

The survey also found that almost 75% of the women surveyed believe that in these challenging economic times that appearance plays a significant part in getting hired, gaining new clientele and getting promoted. Also 15% say they themselves would consider having a cosmetic surgery specifically to make themselves more confident and competitive in the job market. Perhaps the most interesting statistic is that 3% say that they already have undergone a cosmetic surgery to increase their perceived value in their workplace.

A warning to those ladies considering having a plastic surgery in Toronto. Remember that cosmetic procedures are still medical operations and there are still dangers. So make sure the risk is worth it if you are truly considering making such a life-altering choice.

Toronto Plastic Surgery: How Young is Too Young?

She was just a teen when she made her mark on the small screen in her first appearance on the hit series “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.” Now she’s making headlines because of her controversial amount of plastic surgeries. Heidi Montag has already underwent a number of different procedures from liposuction, collagen injection, breast augmentation too rhinoplasty. This is a valid issue amongst parents, teens and plastic surgeons… Just how young is too young for Toronto cosmetic surgery?

In 2009, in the United States alone there were almost 210,000 cosmetic procedures performed on patients between the ages of 13 and 19, you can add roughly another 110k if you include all of the procedures in Canada. There were a number of different cosmetic surgeries some included liposuction, male breast reduction, ear surgery, rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. We have to remember that a number of these procedures were reconstructive surgeries to correct birth defects or an occasional broken nose, but others such breast augmentation and rhinoplasty are typically elective operations.
toronto plastic surgery, how young is too young
In Toronto, plastic surgery for teens is just a contentious as ever and as the age of Toronto plastic surgery procedures falls, the amount of controversy rises. Doctors must evaluate these young patients on a case-by-case basis, because there is a lot at stake with these young teens. There are always extenuating circumstances of course, because there are some teens that deal with real health and psychological issues from unfavorable psychical features. Some examples are young teens with extremely large breasts that suffer from back pain or youth that suffer from constant taunting for having very large ears. The question for Toronto cosmetic surgery is who has the most important opinion in the judgment call regarding cosmetic surgery in Toronto in teens? Do the doctors, the parents or the teens carry the most weight in the decision? This topic will continue to be debated as Toronto plastic surgery patients become younger and younger in age.
