Labia Reduction Surgery Techniques

Trim Technique Labiaplasty
The Trim Technique is the most commonly performed type of Labiaplasty by Dr. Martin. It removes a longitudinal section of the excess labia. This technique is ideal for most patients as it is simplest and thus has lowest complication rates and simplest healing and recovery.
Wedge Technique Labiaplasty
The Wedge Technique was create in order to minimize the scarring. It has the benefit of maintaining the natural tissue border of the inner labia (labia minora). This technique, however, is ideal only for women who’s labia have a very unique shape where the excess involves only a small portion of the labia minora. Dr. Martin will examine you and let you know if you are a good candidate for this procedure.
Z-Plasty Labiaplasty is a variation of the Wedge technique. It was developed to improve not the scar of the Wedge Technique. The indications and contra-indications for this surgical technique are identical to the ones for the Wedge Technique.
De-Epithelialization Technique Labiaplasty
This procedure has been designed to maintain completely natural labia edge and avoid any deep incisions. This technique however has very limited applications and is rarely used.

Dr. Jugenburg will meet with you in consultation, and explain the Labiaplasty process to you, including the surgery, the recovery and what you need to do to maximize your healing. Dr. Jugenburg will examine you and after that he will discuss with you the pros and cons of the various techniques and how they apply to your particular labia shape. Each of the above techniques has pros and cons, and each is ideally suited for one of the various labia shapes that you may have.
