Synopsis:

Excess skin and weight in the inner thigh area can be troubling and uncomfortable. The effects of aging, significant weight loss, and genetics can lead to the thin and delicate skin of the inner thigh becoming loose and losing the smooth contour it once had. A thigh lift will reshape the inner thighs by removing both excess fat and sagging skin from the inner thigh, and sculpting the thigh to create a slimmer contour.

Why
Thigh Lift

Sagging skin

Liposuction is very effective for removing fatty deposits but it cannot remove excess skin. In order to contour the thighs, a thigh lift is a more appropriate cosmetic procedure.

Removal of excess fat

If you wish to reduce the circumference of the thigh area, a thigh lift combined with liposuction is an effective way of removing excess fat and tissue.

What is a Thigh Lift?

The SixSurgery team is highly skilled at performing the two varieties of thigh lift surgeries: inner thigh and outer thigh surgery. The results are slimmer thighs that are unrecognizable from the thighs that once had excess fat and skin, creating a much improved appearance in clothing and significantly enhanced body confidence.

Type Medial (Inner) thigh lift Outer Thigh Surgery

With inner thigh cosmetic procedures, the circumference of the inner thigh is reduced, creating a far leaner appearance.

A Medial thigh lift will remove redundant and wrinkling skin from the inner thigh area providing a smoother contour.

A Lateral thigh lift is usually recommended for patients who have experienced great weight loss and have sagging skin on the outside of their thigh.

Incision

An incision is made along your inner thigh (groin area) which allows for a wedge of excess skin and fat to be removed. The remaining skin is reshaped to contour to your underlying musculature.

An incision is made from the groin crease to the back. This may include the buttocks as well as the outer thighs. Excess skin, fat, and tissue is then removed directly from the outer thigh.

Commonly Combined With

Lower Body Lift

This procedure removes the excess skin, and is often performed in combination with a lower body lift. Thigh lift surgery can lead to a much improved appearance in clothing and significantly enhanced body confidence.

Butt Lift

Outer Thigh Surgery removes the excess skin, and is often performed in tandem with butt lifts.

Are you a Candidate?

If you have a generally stable weight but are unhappy with the sagging skin or excess fat in your inner or outer thighs, then thigh lift surgery could provide you with the results that you desire.

How much does
Thigh Lift cost?

Thigh Lift
$ 10 300 to $ 13 500+

Costs will be adjusted according to anesthetic used and potential customization to the procedure.

Recovery

1 Weeks:

Following surgery some moderate pain is to be expected over the first week, which can be controlled with medication.

2 Weeks:

Most patients can return comfortably to work after two weeks.

3 Months:

You will have some swelling in the early weeks, and the new contour will be fully appreciable by three months.

Scarring & Recovery Necessities

The incision is placed within the groin crease so it is strategically placed to be as inconspicuous as possible. This scar will also fade over time and will rarely migrate. At SixSurgery we understand that an excellent surgical scar is important to patients, and our surgeons are experienced in creating incisions that result in the most discrete scars possible. Pre-order any supplies you may need. SixSurgery approves of Recovery Market's Post Surgical Thigh Lift Box to provide high-quality supplies and products for a speedy recovery and optimal results.

Risks & Complications

There are some complications associated with thigh lift surgery that any person thinking about choosing a thigh lift should be aware of. Bleeding and formation of fluid under the skin that leads to swelling can occur. Migration of scars and infection are also possible. Although complications following Thigh Lift are infrequent; the following may occur:

  • Bleeding

Bleeding, which in rare instances could require hospitalization and blood transfusion. Blood clots may form under the skin and require drainage.

  • Skin irregularities

Skin irregularities, lumpiness, hardness and dimpling may result; some problems disappear with time and from massage, other problems may persist and additional treatments may be necessary.

  • Infection

Infection is rare but may occur and treatment with antibiotics and/or drainage may be required. In rare instances surgery may be required for severe infection.

  • Wound dehiscence

Wound dehiscence (wound opening) may occur and will heal with the assistance of wound care.

  • Skin blood supply

Skin blood supply can on rare instances be compromised, leading to infection or loss of skin leaving an opening in your incision requiring potential revisions.

  • Numbness of the skin

Numbness of the skin over treated areas is common and persists for months. In extremely rare cases it may be permanent.

  • Abnormal scarring

Abnormal scarring or scar position is rare but is possible.

  • Dizziness

Dizziness may occur during the first week following Thigh Lift surgery particularly upon rising from a lying or sitting position. If this occurs, extreme caution may need to be exercised while walking. Do not drive a car if dizziness is present.

  • Deep Venous Thrombosis

Deep Venous Thrombosis, Pulmonary Embolism and Fat Embolism may occur. The risk of these specific complications is increased in patients with increased BMI and previous arms surgeries. If left untreated they may be fatal.

Our supportive staff are always on hand to talk through all of the risks associated with thigh lift surgery and how we minimize those risks.

What preparations should I make for thigh lift surgery?

You may need to change your intake of certain medications before the procedure (and you will be advised about this personally), and you will need to stop smoking at least two weeks before the surgery in order to promote the fastest possible recovery.
