Breast Implant Profile
How much do you want your breasts to stand out?
Breast implant profile is the term used to describe how much a breast implant projects forward. A low projection implant is very flat, which a high projection implant sticks out a lot.
As you can see in the picture above, all of these implants have the same diameter or width. What differs is their projection, or how much to stick out/protrude. A low profile implant is very flat, while a high profile breast implants are very round. Higher profile = more fake look.
How to decide which profile is best for you?
To help you decide which profile suits your body the best, your existing body and breast size and shape is taken into consideration, along with the look that you want. Some women ask for the ultra-high profile implants because they are looking for the very bubbly push-up bra look. Other women want a very subtle enlargement of a low profile implant.
When choosing a breast implant your existing breast width is a key factor. You want to ensure that the breast implant is equal to or is just a little smaller than you existing breast width if you are looking for a very natural breast look. In petite women, with a narrow chest, this means that they are often limited to implants that are much smaller than what they want. In such situations, keeping the breast implant diamater small but increasing the profile of the implant allows us to offer you a larger implant with it being too wide.
During your consultation at the Toronto Cosmetic Surgery Institute, we will measure your chest and breast size and recommend the right implant to fit your body and your needs.
