You want beautiful sexy breasts, not just a simple breast enlargement. Dr. Jugenburg has studied breast augmentation techniques with some of the world’s most experienced breast surgeons, from whom he has learned the techniques and approaches to perform virtually every type of breast augmentation surgery and to deal with any potential challenge one may encounter during this surgery.
Choosing Breast Implants
Breast implants come in many varieties of Size, Shape, Content, Volume and Surface texture to suit your individual needs. Your body, pre-existing breast size and shape, lifestyle and physical activity play a role in deciding which breast implant will fit you the best. Dr. Jugenburg, a breast augmentation expert, will use his extensive experience and artistic talents to help you choose just the right implant.
Breast Implant Shape
Breast implants can be Round or Shaped (Anatomic). Round implants (as seen on the left side of the picture) are symmetric while shaped breast implants (on the right side of the picture) have more volume and projection on the lower half, while the upper half of the implant has less volume. This creates a teardrop shape. A teardrop shape is more natural, however in our experience, most women prefer the fullness of a round implant. Dr. Jugenburg reserves shaped implants for cancer patients when he needs to recreate a breast shape. For women who want breast augmentation for purely cosmetic reasons and already have a natural looking breast, exaggerating the tear drop shape with an anatomic breast implant does not create a sexy full breast look.
Breast Implant Profile
The “PROFILE” refers to how much a breast implant protrudes forward. In general a low profile breast implant is flat and wide. A medium profile implant of the same size (volume) will have smaller diameter but project further our from your body. A high profile implant has the narrowest diameter and projects forward the most. High profile implants are ideal for petite girls who have a very narrow chest wall. High profile implants have the most bubbly appearance of these different breast implant profiles.
Breast Implant Size
Breast Implants come in many different sizes. Saline breast implants are filled with saline (salt water) during the surgery and therefore Dr. Jugenburg is able to customize saline implant size to fit your body just right. Silicone breast implants come pre-filled and it is not possible to adjust the size during the surgery.
The size of breast implants is measured through it’s volume, described as “cc’s” or cubic centimetres.
Choosing the implant size is usually the most difficult decision for the patient and it is not unusual for women to spend a lot of time going back and forth between various sizes. Dr. Jugenburg will let you try various sizes or even perform a 3D simulation to give you an idea of what you will look like after surgery. One piece of advice Dr. Jugenburg will give you is to find the size that you think fits your body, and then go a little bit bigger. All implants look a little smaller once they have been placed under your breast tissue. If you are going under the muscle, the muscle compression will further shrink the size of the breast implant and you should take that into consideration as well when choosing your breast implant size.
Breast Implant Texture
The surface of the implant (implant shell) can be smooth or textured (rough velcro-like). Implants first came out with a smooth shell, and later a textured shell was developed in an effort to decrease the likelihood of capsular contracture (implant hardening). The downside of textured implants is that they show rippling more and feel harder. Dr. Jugenburg prefers to use smooth breast implants whenever possible.

Saline Breast Implants
Saline breast implants are made of a silicone shell which is filled at the time of the surgery with saline (salt water) by Dr. Jugenburg. Saline implants can be filled to virtually any volume at the time of the surgery, and the right and left breast implant can be filled differently to adjust for any mild asymmetry in breast volume that you have. The main downside of saline breast implants is that they feel more like a water balloon and they ripple more than silicone (silicone implants ripple as well but not as prominently as saline breast implants.)
Silicone Breast Implants
Silicone breast implants feel more natural and look natural than saline breast implants. They have a solid silicone shell and a more liquid silicone gel filling. The amount of silicone fill varies, from softer (but more rippling) to harder (but less rippling) breast implants. Both Mentor and Allergan, the main breast implant manufacturers make silicone breast implants of various densities. At the time of your consultation Dr. Jugenburg will let you look at and feel the various types of breast implants to allow you to make decision based on the feel of the implants.
