Fake Look vs Natural Look Breast Augmentation
While most women would imagine that everybody wants to look natural, the fact is that more and more women are requesting the ‘Fake Look” breast augmentation. Whether you want a ‘fake look’ or a ‘natural look’ result, it is very important to clarify what those terms mean.
Natural Look Breast Augmentation
A “natural” look is the one where there is a gentle slope taking off from your chest and projecting forward towards the nipple which should be the most projectile part of the breast. Most of the breast volume should be in the lower half. The breast has a gently droop to it and sits approximately at the mid level of the arm. If you look at classical paintings of naked women, you will see very natural shaped breasts.
The Natural Look is achieved by going under the muscle with a moderate profile implant, and choosing an implant that fist your chest and is proportional to the rest of your body
Fake Look Breast Augmentation
Fake look refers to very round, bubbly breast implants where you can see the outline of the implants. The implants and breast sit up high on your chest, cleavage is tight, and it looks like you have a permanent push-up bra. This look is inspired by Hollywood where we often see celebrities with very obvious breast augmentations. This is not a ‘natural look’ even though that may be confusing. Because of the media exposure this type of breast augmentation result is getting some people now think this is normal. I once had a patient walk into my office and ask for a ‘natural’ looking breast augmentation, and then she pulled out a picture of Victoria Beckham as an example of what she wanted.
The Fake Look is achieved by going over the muscle, using high profile implants or overfilling saline implants and using implants that are disproportionately large compared to your chest.
